Shared Web Hosting FAQ
  1. Is your support department available 24/7/365?

    Yes. We are available by phone and email 24/7/365 for ALL emergency issues. For non-emergency support we are available M-F 8am-12midnight PST. Non-emergency support issues will be addressed even over weekends and holidays however the turn-around time may take up to 6 hours.


  2. Do you allow adult sites?

    Yes we do. All sites must be FULLY legal and complainant with U.S. laws!


  3. What happens if I'm using more bandwidth than my plan allows?

    You will be charged the overage fee per the plan you purchased. Your account will NOT be shut down if you go over your bandwidth allowance. When you reach the amount of bandwidth in the plan above yours the cost per GB and overage fees will drop. We will always notify you before you are billed.


  4. Are there any setup fee's or contracts?

    Never! Service is offered on a month-to-month basis, and you will never get hit with unwanted setup fees!


  5. How long will it take to setup my shared hosting account?

    Shared hosting plans will be setup within 24 hours, however, it generally takes 24-72 hours for DNS changes to propagate which GJServers.com has no control over.


  6. Do you allow PERL/CGI/PHP/MySQL on shared hosting accounts?

    We sure do.


  7. Do you allow access to raw apache logs on shared hosting accounts?

    Yes, you will have separate logs for each domain and access to the /logs directory. Please note that log files are rotated and deleted daily so you will need to download the raw logs 1 FULL hour before midnight.


  8. Do you allow terminal (SSH) access on shared hosting accounts?

    We will issue SSH access on a temporary basis only. Please contact us when shared accounts require temporary SSH access.


  9. Do you allow SPAM?

    NO! If you send solicited bulk email you MUST offer a working opt-out link. We will not be tolerant of SPAM and will terminate your account if we find you sending out SPAM in any way.


  10. Can I setup cron jobs on my shared hosting account?

    We sure can. Please contact our support department to setup the cron.


  11. Do you allow .htaccess/.htpasswd on shared hosting accounts?

    We sure do!


  12. Do you support domain wildcards on shared hosting accounts? How about 3rd level domain to directory mapping?

    We sure do!


  13. Do you support mail forwarding on shared hosting accounts?

    We sure do!


  14. Do FTP transfers for site uploads count toward total bandwidth allocation?

    No they do not assuming you are not uploading 500GB of content per day!


  15. What server specifications are your shared hosting accounts run on?

    Shared servers utilize Quad-Core Xeon processors, Ultra320 SCSI HD's (15K RPM), 16GB RAM, on 100Mbit connections. All of our shared hosting servers are on a load balanced solution to avoid downtime should one customer make a mistake and bring a server down. You will NOT suffer because of this!


  16. What Perl modules do you support on shared hosting accounts?

    Most if not ALL Perl modules are installed already on shared hosting accounts. If you need a specific Perl module we can install any module you want from CPAN archive. Please contact our technical support department.

    Dedicated servers will be setup and released within 5 business days of the date your order was placed. In most cases the servers will be released sooner depending on availability.
